The core of customs brokerage is getting four things right: the customs declaration, the HS-code classification, the duty and VAT calculation, and the permits or certificates for regulated goods. We classify each consignment to the correct tariff line, which sets the rate, then calculate the duties and VAT payable and advise on any reliefs or preferences that apply. For controlled or licensed goods, we identify and arrange the documentation early so nothing is discovered at the border. The result is clearance that is both fast and compliant — declarations lodged correctly the first time.

Incoterms decide who clears the cargo

Whether the buyer or the seller is responsible for clearance is set by your Incoterms, not by guesswork. Under DDP, the seller delivers cleared and duty-paid; under FOB, CFR or DAP, the buyer usually handles import clearance and pays the duties and VAT. We confirm the responsible party at the quoting stage and structure the clearance to match, so there is no surprise at the port and no demurrage while a declaration is reworked.
